L2A4 is used to expand the measurement capabilities of GSM modems such as GPRS SMART, BC100, and LINUS. It allows measuring of two pulse counting inputs and four analog inputs in voltage, current, or resistance standards. There is an additional option to power external voltage measurement converters with a voltage of 3.3 V during measurement. The collected information is automatically stored as a record in internal RAM. The L2A4 card can optionally be equipped with an additional autonomous lithium battery to maintain power supply for the pulse counter and RAM memory.
