Communication via Ethernet with devices equipped with an asynchronous RS232 serial link. It enables remote data reading and device control with a serial port (e.g. amicroprocessor controller) over the computer network. Communication with the device is done through TCP or UDP protocol as a connection to a specific IP address and port number.
